# Regular Bike Maintenence

All the things you need to do to keep your bike in great shape.

- [ ] Inspect the frame for cracks or damage.
- [ ] Check tire pressure and inflate if necessary.
- [ ] Examine tires for wear and tear; replace if needed.
- [ ] Lubricate the chain with bike-specific lubricant.
- [ ] Check brakes for wear and proper alignment; adjust if necessary.
- [ ] Inspect brake pads for wear and replace if worn.
- [ ] Ensure all bolts are tightened, especially on the handlebars, stem, and seat post.
- [ ] Check the gears and shift through all of them to ensure smooth operation.
- [ ] Clean the bike frame and components with a mild soap solution.
- [ ] Wax or polish the frame to protect the paint.
- [ ] Examine spokes and wheels for any signs of damage; true the wheels if out of alignment.
- [ ] Test ride the bike to ensure everything is working smoothly.
